EMERGING RED SERIES (1998), BY BOB RANKIN
ACQUIRED FROM THE ARTIST, RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA, OCTOBER 1998
MIXED MEDIA (ACRYLIC, GEL MEDIA) ON HAND-PRESSED FRENCH PAPER
This work isn't nearly as bright as most of Bob Rankin's works, but the effect of multiple layers of colors that look as if they've been worn away over time is quite interesting... the effect is similar to that in Blue Point. This work is named Emerging Red Series because the red layer is emerging from behind the other layers of color in the work.

This is one of two Rankins that I took with me to Seattle for five months while working on the Microsoft Office 2000 Beta.
